Filming With Footballers

When we first launched the sponsorship deal between WBA FC Women and Maple Products from Quebec, we were lucky enough to film with some of the men’s and women’s WBA first team players at The Hawthorns football stadium, to find out their thoughts on pure Quebec maple syrup.

On the day we had the privilege of filming with women’s professionals, Summer Holmes and Harley Simpson; as well as men’s first team players Ben Foster, Boaz Myhill and Craig Gardner.

We mixed a batch of the all-natural maple sports drink for the players to sample in the changing rooms, where we filmed them in a pre-game situation – showing the use of maple immediately before exercise.

The players were impressed, not only by the flavour of the drink, but by the natural benefits if pure Quebec maple syrup – with most unaware that it is a 100% natural and unprocessed source of energy.

Each player was given a sample of the four grades of maple syrup, and water bottles to use at home and share with their family. Ben Foster and Boaz Myhill are particularly fond of maple, telling us that Ben’s children use it a lot, and Boaz enjoys maple on his porridge.

We also asked the women players for their thought on maple syrup, asking for three words they associate they associate with Canada’s finest export.

Summer said: “energy, pancakes and nutrition,” while Harley associated maple syrup with sweet, Canada and sport.

It’s been a great start to the sponsorship with WBA FC Women and we look forward to continuing to work with both the players and fans throughout the season.
