Hot Buttered Maple Rum

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp maple syrup (preferably amber for its rich taste)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ orange zest
- 100ml dark rum
- 3 tbsp melted unsalted butter
- 2 cinnamon sticks, to serve
Method
- Combine the ground cinnamon, vanilla extract, orange zest and nutmeg in a small bowl, then gradually pour in the maple syrup, rum and melted butter and stir together
- Divide the mixture in two glasses
- Top each glass with 100ml boiling water and stir well
- Garnish with two cinnamon sticks and serve
