Spicy Maple Margarita

Spicy-Maple-Margarita
2 portions

Ingredients

  • 100ml silver tequila
  • 100ml fresh lime juice
  • 80ml pure maple syrup (preferably amber syrup for its rich taste)
  • 2 green chillies, finely sliced
  • 2 lime slices
  • 1 tsp Tajin seasoning
  • Pinch of salt
  • Crushed ice, to serve
  • Extra green chillies and sliced limes, to garnish

Method

For the salt rim garnish:

  1. Combine salt and Tajin powder in a shallow bowl.
  2. Run the lime slices around the outside of the two tumblers, then dip into the salt-Tajin mixture.
  3. Set aside while you make the margarita.

To make the margarita:

  1. Add the lime juice, chilli, tequila and maple syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously until the shaker is ice-cold to the touch.
  2. Strain into the prepared glasses, add fresh ice and garnish with extra chillies and limes.
